About this site

This site is about the design of energy-efficient, cost-effective passive solar homes in southern Australia (and similar climates). It uses as the main example the house that we have built north of Canberra.

About me

I have worked as a secondary school teacher, magazine editor, website editor, adult trainer and book author. I write about cars, electronics, bicycles, engineering history – and now, passive solar homes. I have been interested in energy efficient home design all my life.
